This past month, Holland America cruise lines reopened the industries historic ties with Israel after a seven year hiatus. The passenger reaction was tremendous. Of 1200 passengers on the cruise ship Amsterdam, more than three quarters booked day tours in Israel.

From either port, a traveler can rent a car or book a bus tour, to reach a variety of tourist and religious sites within a matter of hours, giving time to see the country, have a good meal, and get back to the ship by nightfall.
